Know where every bike is.
Customers book a size and a length on your website. Your crew hands over the unit, marks it back, and sees what's overdue from one card.
Every rental is something you own leaving the shop and coming back. Tarn sells each size against the units you actually have in service, prices by how long it's out, and prints a pickup and a return-by time on every confirmation. On the day, the dashboard shows every unit that's out, overdue, waiting to be picked up, or back on the rack, across every rental you run.
Sizes the customer picks
Each option is a size or model with a line on who it fits. The booking page lists every option as Available or Booked for the chosen date, so a customer can see the size exists and try another day.
Priced by how long it's out
Rental rates are one ladder for the whole rental: 1 day $75, 2 days $140, a week for less per day. Add a Sat–Sun price to any row. A length that doesn't fit, because that unit is already booked on one of the days, is greyed out and says why.
Pickup windows and return times
The scheduled time opens pickup ("between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM"), and a rental day is 24 hours from there. Confirmations and reminders print a Pick up line and a Return by line.
Every unit is a real thing
Rentals → Fleet lists each unit with its label, serial, spec, and a note. Send one for repair and it comes off sale on every day until it's back in service. Retire it when it's gone. The units in service set how many customers can book.
Hand over, mark returned
The rental sheet has one row per unit. Assign a rider to a bike, Hand over once their waiver is signed, and Mark returned when it's back. Guides can do all three from a phone. Walk-ins start from any free unit.
What's out right now
The dashboard's Rentals card counts every unit that's overdue, out, to pick up, returned, and available, with the next due-back time. Tap a count to see the units behind it and call the rider who's late. Rentals → Week shows which unit is booked on which day.
- Sizes or models as options, with a customer-facing description
- Rental rates by length, with optional weekend prices
- Multi-day rentals that hold the unit on every day
- Pickup windows and a Return by time on every email
- Units with label, serial, spec, and notes
- In repair and Retired, off sale until you say so
- Rental sheet: assign, hand over, mark returned, walk-in
- Dashboard Rentals card: overdue, out, to pick up, returned, available
- Week view of every unit across seven days
- Extend an overdue rental by a day at the next rate
- Returns card on the daily manifest
- Waivers and card on file, same as your trips
- One unit per booking. A customer renting two bikes makes two bookings, each with its own handover and return.
- There's no card pre-authorization for a unit's value. Turn on card on file so a damage or late charge can go on the saved card, and say so in your policy.
- A late-return fee isn't built yet. Today an overdue rental closes with no fee, or extends by a day at your next rate.
- Customers can't pick a time inside the pickup window. Add a booking question like "When will you pick up?" if you want a heads-up.
- A unit returned early stays held online for the rest of its booking. Re-rent it the same day as a walk-in.
How does Tarn know how many I can rent?
From your fleet. Each size's units in service are what customers can book on a date. Send one for repair and that size has one fewer until it's back.
When is a rental due back?
A rental day is 24 hours from the pickup time. A 1-day rental picked up Saturday at 4:00 PM is due Sunday at 4:00 PM, and the customer's confirmation says so.
Can I run rentals and guided trips on one account?
Yes. Rentals have their own page with Today, Week, Fleet, and Setup, and your trips stay where they are. The calendar and bookings list show both, with a switch to see one kind at a time.
Do my guides need office access to check bikes in and out?
No. Guides and trip leaders can assign a unit, hand it over, and mark it returned from their phone. Walk-ins stay with the office.
