One rate. Everything included.
No monthly fee and no tiers. Tarn takes a small percentage of each booking — 3% to start, stepping down as you grow. Card processing goes to Stripe at cost, never marked up.
The whole deal, out the door.
Two fees ride on every card booking: Tarn's platform fee and Stripe's card processing. Here's both, added up — no asterisks.
| Trailing 12-mo volume | Tarn | Card processing (Stripe) | Out the door |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to $250k | 3% | 2.9% + 30¢ | 5.9% + 30¢ |
| $250k – $1M | 2.5% | 2.9% + 30¢ | 5.4% + 30¢ |
| Over $1M | 2% | 2.9% + 30¢ | 4.9% + 30¢ |
On a $400 raft booking at the starting rate, Tarn's fee is $12.00 and Stripe's is $11.90 — you keep $376.10. At the 2% step you keep $380.10.
FareHarbor's standard model runs ~6% per booking; Peek Pro operators report ~9% all-in. Tarn's all-in cost is 5.9% on day one and falls to 4.9% as you grow. See the full comparisons →

Questions outfitters ask before they switch.
Straight answers — no fine print. Still wondering about something specific to your operation?
Talk to a real personTarn takes a small percentage of each booking — 3% to start, stepping down to 2% as your volume grows. There's no monthly subscription, no setup fee, and every feature is included on every account. If anything about the pricing is unclear, ask and you'll get a straight answer.
Card processing is separate and goes to Stripe, not Tarn — 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction at Stripe's standard rate, on your own Stripe account. Tarn never marks it up. Add it to the platform fee and your true out-the-door cost is 5.9% at the starting rate, down to 4.9% at volume.
Your rate is set by your trailing 12-month processed volume, and it applies to all of your volume — no brackets to decode. Cross $250k and your rate drops to 2.5%; cross $1M and it drops to 2%. Tarn moves your rate down automatically — you never have to ask for it.
Your call. Absorb the platform fee in your listed prices, add it at checkout as a booking fee, or split it 50/50 — it's one setting.
You can be taking bookings the same afternoon you sign up. Add your activities, schedule, and pricing — from your current platform or a spreadsheet — and if you're moving from another system, we'll help you bring your upcoming bookings over at no charge.
No. Guests book, pay, and sign waivers right in their browser from any phone or laptop. There's no account to create and nothing to install.
Tarn runs on Stripe, so deposits and balances are handled securely with industry-standard PCI compliance. Payouts land in your bank on Stripe's normal schedule — you connect your account in a couple of minutes.
Yes. You and your guides get a clean web dashboard that works right in any phone browser — pull up the day's manifest, guest counts, and waiver status from the ramp. Add Tarn to your home screen and it runs full-screen like an app — no app store, nothing to update.
You set your own cancellation policy — deposits, windows, and weather holds. Refunds are one click and flow back through Stripe, and Tarn's platform fee comes back to you on a full refund. Cancelled and refunded bookings stay on the record so your reporting always reconciles.
No contracts, no monthly fee, no minimums, and no setup fees. If you ever leave, your bookings, contacts, and waivers export cleanly — your data is yours.
Your next season starts at the desk. Make it a short visit.
Set up your trips, take your first booking, and get back to the river — with no monthly fee.
